Common Interview Questions:

Congratulations! 
Shortlisting of your CV is one of the important step to be cleared by all candidates. You have crossed this step , some more steps may have completed by you like Group discussions etc.Final step of the selection process is personal interview. You can not take chance of this important step as this is final step and your performance will decide whether you are selected or not. Freshers are more in stress than experienced. Preparation for this personal interaction round gives you desired result. I shall guide you with some common interview questions and answer for freshers so that you can be a winner of your interview.




1. Tell me something about yourself /Introduce Yourself:

Introduce yourself with confidence like, myself Amarendra Mishra , I have completed graduation in the year 2020. I have done B.Com in graduation. I was the captain of my college cricket team. There are four member in my family . My father is a School teacher. Watching cricket is my favorite hobby.
That's all about me.

Note: Highlight your achievement along with your academics.Keep it short.


2.Tell me about your strength:

Here you will highlight your strength according to the job profile.If you are giving interview for accountant profile your strength will be that you are very good in calculation.After that you can say I am a quick learner which will add to your strength.

3.Tell me about your weakness:

Some candidates say they don't have any weakness, this is not appropriate answer, it looks like you are arrogant.So always say a weakness which will not impact to your current job.Can highlight your weakness as you can not sleep in dark.
Note: Always explain your weakness and strength with quick example.

4.Tell me about your hobbies:

Sometimes hobbies shows your personality which impact positively to your selection.For example you can say morning walk and doing yoga is my favorite hobby. Which shows your physical fitness .
Note: Avoid highlight hobby which impact badly such as gambling.

5. Do you know anything about our company:

Before attempting interview research thoroughly about the company and your job profile which will help you to answer.


6.Tell me the reason to hire You :

With this question interviewer willing to know your convincing ability and willingness to do the job.

7. Why you are interested to our company:

Most of candidates do the mistake here. They used to say, I have a dream to work with this company since childhood. 

Correlate your career goal with the company value which will enhance your skill to grow.

8. What do you think about yourself after FIVE years from now :

To answer this you need proper research of the profile you are attempting for interview. You must know the growth of that particular profile after five years, also it will shows your understanding of the job role.

Note: I have seen some candidates answer this as after five years I want to be in your chair. This is absolutely NO. Also never give any impression that you are willing to do the job for experience and after some time will move to some other company.

9. What salary you are expecting :

Being a fresher it  will be very difficult to say your salary expectation. Best answer will be as per industry norms.

Note: Never expect too high or less salary. Normally every company has a standard salary norms for each and every profile according to their experience.

10. Any question you want to ask :

You should take this opportunity to show your keenness for the job offer.Prepare a list of questions which are relevant to your job role. 

Note: Ask intelligent question which shows your curiosity about  the company and rules and regulations which to be followed.

These are basic questions normally asked to freshers. Prepare yourself before attempting interview as this is your last opportunity and you have to crack it.

Know before interview

Do's and Don't of interview

After getting interview call or letter most of us got excited to know about upcoming interview. The feeling of that is sweet and little bitter because anxiety starts whether will got selected or rejected.

Chances of selection will go up when you follow some basic do's and don't of interview. Most of candidates don't follow basic interview rules.I will guide you some basic things to follow before interview and you will definitely get success interview.


Do's

1. Know the Company /Organisation
Most of candidate comes for interview without knowing the organization, nature of business, and also job profile .Before attempting interview you must research about the company. Like incorporation date, nature of business, who is the CEO, number of employees, presence of countries also know about the details of job profile. 

2. Reach interview venue early

Always reach the interview venue at least 10-15 minutes early to the schedule time so that you can get time to settled down. Also it will shows that you are serious about the job role.Always value the time of others. If you late without informing the potential employer will think that you are unreliable.

3. Come with fully Prepared

Always keep a folder with copy of all academic certificates, experience letter, last offer letter and a copy of latest resume. Also keep a notepad and pen to write any important notes .

4. Enter the interview room with permission

Always knock before entering and also ask for permission. Greet interviewer with Good morning/Afternoon or Evening. Also try to offer firm hand shake.Which will show your confidence. 

5. Put Question

After completion of the interview normally interviewer will provide you opportunity to ask question. If not you can put some question about office timing,how many days are open in a week etc. which will shows your eagerness about the job.

Don't

1. Casual Dress

Always wear decent formal dress while appearing for interview. Polished shoes , clean shaved for man , woman may wear light lipstick (Dark NOOO) .

2. Avoid filler word

Normally during discussion  we use filler word like , you know, basically, OK, alright. Avoid this kind of word.

3. Never answer with just Yes or NO

Avoid answering with single word with Yes or No. Always answer with proper sentence.

4. Don't Keep ghost interviewer 

Always keep inform your interviewer whether able to attend the interview or not.Always inform them if you are unable to attend in case of emergency. Also ask them for alternate date if you are willing to appear for the interview.

DEPOSITS  खाता:
  Current account:- Current account is an account with a bank or building society from which money may be withdrawn without notice, typically an active account catering for frequent deposits and withdrawals by cheque .


चालू खाता एक बैंक या बिल्डिंग सोसाइटी वाला खाता है जिसमें से बिना किसी नोटिस के पैसा निकाला जा सकता है, आमतौर पर चेक द्वारा बार-बार जमा और निकासी के लिए एक सक्रिय खाता।

Savings account:- Saving account is a deposit account held at a retail bank that pays interest but cannot be used directly as money in the narrow sense of a medium of exchange (for example, by writing a cheque). These accounts let customers set aside a portion of their liquid assets while earning a monetary return. In some jurisdictions, deposits in savings accounts do not incur reserve requirements.

बचत खाता: - बचत खाता एक खुदरा बैंक में रखा गया जमा खाता है जो ब्याज का भुगतान करता है लेकिन एक्सचेंज के माध्यम के संकीर्ण अर्थ में धन का उपयोग नहीं किया जा सकता है (उदाहरण के लिए, एक चेक लिखकर)। इन खातों ने ग्राहकों को मौद्रिक रिटर्न अर्जित करते हुए अपनी तरल संपत्ति के एक हिस्से को अलग करने दिया। कुछ न्यायालयों में, बचत खातों में जमा आरक्षित आवश्यकताओं को लागू नहीं करते हैं।

Fixed Deposits:- Fixed deposits are investment instruments offered by banks and non-banking financial companies, where you can deposit money for a higher rate of interest than savings accounts. You can deposit a lump sum of money in fixed deposits for a specific period, ranging from 7 days to 10 years.


फिक्स्ड डिपॉजिट्स: - फिक्स्ड डिपॉजिट बैंकों और गैर-बैंकिंग वित्तीय कंपनियों द्वारा दिए गए निवेश साधन हैं, जहां आप बचत खातों की तुलना में अधिक ब्याज दर के लिए पैसा जमा कर सकते हैं। आप एक निश्चित अवधि के लिए 7 दिन से लेकर 10 साल तक की एकमुश्त राशि जमा कर सकते हैं।

Recurring Deposit:- Recurring Deposit is a special kind of Term Deposit offered by banks in India which help people with regular incomes to deposit a fixed amount every month into their Recurring Deposit account and earn interest at the rate applicable to Fixed Deposits.


आवर्ती जमा: - आवर्ती जमा भारत में बैंकों द्वारा दी जाने वाली एक विशेष प्रकार की सावधि जमा है जो नियमित आय वाले लोगों को हर महीने एक निश्चित राशि को अपने आवर्ती जमा खाते में जमा करने में मदद करती है और फिक्स्ड डिपॉजिट पर लागू दर पर ब्याज कमाती है।

Various NISM Certification and Job Opportunities


NISM certificates are mandatory for Financial Services Job



NISM Series I : Currency Derivatives


Currency Derivative dealers need to clear this certification. No dealer terminal issued without certification. Exchanges have a clear policy to allot dealer terminal only for those who have cleared the required Series I certification. This certificate is valid  for three years only. After that you have to re validate by clearing the qualifying  exam else need to appear CPE program before expiry.Once certificate expired you have to clear the examination.


Validity is three months for this certificate. After expiry need to re validate by clearing exam else participate in CPE program before expiry.

Job Option: Dealer with Stock Broking firm like HDFC Securities, ICICI Securities,Kotak Securities etc.

NISM Series II-A & B (MF): Registrar to an issue and Share Transfer Agent

Share transfer agent need to qualify this certification. Those who are involve in registration process of any company's share transfer must clear this certification. Validity is three months for this certificate. After expiry need to re validate by clearing exam else participate in CPE program before expiry.

Job Option : RTA companies like CAMS,Compushare, Karvy, Alankit, Datamatics etc. All stock exchange listed companies who handle their share transfer registration by their own also need to appoint NISM certified Agent.

NISM Series III A&B : Compliance Certification (Intermediaries and Issuers)

Every Intermediary like Stock Broker,Merchant Banker,Portfolio Manager, Investment Advisor, Share Transfer Agent,Registrar,Depositories ,Custodian and Issuing Companies are few of intermediaries who needs to appoint NISM certified Compliance Officer.

Validity is three months for this certificate. After expiry need to re validate by clearing exam else participate in CPE program before expiry.

Job Option: Every intermediary needs NISM certified compliance officer.

NISM Series IV : Interest rate derivatives Certification


Those stock broker offering services in interest rate derivatives to their clients need a dealer terminal operated by NISM certified professional. As the clients are few for this segment hence most of stock brokers does not offer this service.


Validity is three months for this certificate. After expiry need to re validate by clearing exam else participate in CPE program before expiry.

Job Option : Few big corporate stock brokers.

NISM Series V (A B & C): Mutual Fund Distributor,Foundation and Level 2 Certification


Those who are involve in Mutual Fund distribution, sales need to qualify this certification.Mutual fund investment are the essential part of Financial planning hence this industry needs huge certified professionals. You can start your own entrepreneurship of mutual fund distribution business. After clearing NISM Series V-A get ARN number  from AMFI to start your own business.


Validity is three months for this certificate. After expiry need to re validate by clearing exam else participate in CPE program before expiry. 

Job Option: All distributors of asset management companies like HDFC MF, ICICI MF, KOTAK MF etc.

NISM Series VI : Depository Operation Certification


Depository service is as good as banking service. Banks keep custody of depositors fund similarly depository keeps custody of investors securities. Hence operators of depository must have NISM qualified personal.

Validity is three months for this certificate. After expiry need to re validate by clearing exam else participate in CPE program before expiry. 

Job Option : Most of all banking and non banking companies are providing depository services. Hence job opportunity in this profiles are huge.

NISM Series VII : Securities Operation and Risk Management Certification


All dealers in equity segment needs to qualify this series. This series is considered to be one of the easy certification.


Validity is three months for this certificate. After expiry need to re validate by clearing exam else participate in CPE program before expiry. 

Job Option: All brokers like ICICI Securities, HDFC Securities and others , the employee of sub-brokers.

NISM Series VIII : Equity Derivatives Certification


This is one of the important certification to start your career in Financial Market. Every broker first require this certificate to qualify the interview rest of other certification may need to clear after 
joining.

Validity is three months for this certificate. After expiry need to re validate by clearing exam else participate in CPE program before expiry. 

Job Option: All brokers like ICICI Securities, HDFC Securities and others , the employee of sub-brokers.

NISM Series X-A&B : Investment Adviser Level -I and II


All those who are involve in investment advisory must have NISM certificate series X. Every financial services company specially broking company providing investment advisory to its clients.


Validity is three months for this certificate. After expiry need to re validate by clearing exam else participate in CPE program before expiry.

Job Option: All brokers like ICICI Securities, HDFC Securities and others , the employee of sub-brokers.

NISM Series XI : Equity Sales Certificate

All personal who are involve in selling securities market products need to clear this certificate. Broking companies provide employment only to the certificate holder.

Validity is three months for this certificate. After expiry need to re validate by clearing exam else participate in CPE program before expiry.



Job Option: All brokers like ICICI Securities, HDFC Securities and others , the employee of sub-brokers.

NISM Series XII :Securities Market Foundation Certification

This is voluntary examination.No organisation need this certification. Anybody can attempt this to evaluate his/her basic understanding about Indian securities Markets. Students,homemakers, teachers and other entry level professionals of securities market can write this exam.  

Validity is three months for this certificate. After expiry need to re validate by clearing exam else participate in CPE program before expiry.

Job Option: No jobs provided on the basis of this certificate.

NISM Series XIII : Common Derivatives Certification

This certification required for dealers of stock broking firm who are dealing clients for both equity and currency derivatives simultaneously. You can clear either NISM Series I and Series VIII to work as dealer for Currency and Equity Derivatives or only Series XIII.

Validity is three months for this certificate. After expiry need to re validate by clearing exam else participate in CPE program before expiry.


Job Option : All stock brokers need NISM certified professionals.

NISM Series XIV : Internal Auditor Stock Brokers Certifications

This certification aims to provide common minimum knowledge of securities market operation for chartered accountant, company secretary and others who are involve in internal audit of the Operations of stock Brokers/Clearing Members.

Validity is three months for this certificate. After expiry need to re validate by clearing exam else participate in CPE program before expiry.

Job Option : All stock brokers clearing members need NISM certified professionals.

NISM Series XV : Research Analyst Certification

Most of all stock brokers also the provider of research and analysis services to their customer. Every analyst must have NISM certified to work for this profile.


Validity is three months for this certificate. After expiry need to re validate by clearing exam else participate in CPE program before expiry.


Job Option : Apart from stock brokers independent research houses needs certified professionals to provide research report to their clients.

NISM Series XVI: Commodity Derivatives Certification

All member of commodity exchange need certified dealer to operate their terminal for client servicing. Almost all member of stock exchanges are also the member of commodity exchange through their subsidiary.

Validity is three months for this certificate. After expiry need to re validate by clearing exam else participate in CPE program before expiry.


Job Option : Those companies offering stock broking services also offer commodity broking service through their group companies. Hence plenty of job opportunity available for the certificate holder.

All the above mentioned examination will be of 100 marks consisting 100 question of one mark each in MCQ type to be completed in two hours.Passing score for the online examination is 50%.

Job opportunities in BFSI Segment !!

BFSI: Banking Financial Services and Insurance : As per Team Lease Services recent report BFSI sector will offer more than 9 lakh jobs in coming days. Which means there are ample opportunities for those who are having skills for this sector. Now we should understand the sector specific and what skill set is required.

In my earlier write up I have discussed about Banking sector. Normally most of job seekers has little bit idea about Banking sector as they or their family members using the services of this industry by way of Bank account. But most of the people has little knowledge about Financial Services sector , yes obviously Banks are also part of this sector.

Most of Banking companies are offering Financial Services through their group companies.Some of Financial Services products are Securities Market (Eq. Share, Debenture ,Bonds etc.) Mutual Fund , Insurance, Investment Banking,Merchant Banking are few of them. Below are group companies offering various products of HDFC Group:

HDFC Ltd : Primary business of this company is to offer Housing Loans to real estate sector.

HDFC Bank Ltd: It offers banking services whose primary business is to accept deposits from public and advancing loan according to the need of people.

HDFC Securities Ltd: This company primarily involve in Stock Broking activities. They are the member of Stock Exchanges . It also offers DEMAT account to the investor.

HDFC Asset Management Company Ltd : This company offers various Mutual Fund scheme to the investor.

HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd : Insurance is a product which protect individuals life and assets from any kind of risk. HDFC Life specially involved in offering Life insurances.

These are few companies in HDFC group which are offering BFSI products.

Every company need some specific skill for their employee. Some of them needs NISM certificates also.

Career in Private Sector Bank





Banking Career: Banking job always been treated as one of the most sought career in our society. There is huge craze for banking job in the youth of India. Every graduate tried to crack IBPS for getting job in public sector banking which is a difficult task as competitions are very high. Private sector banks also offer more job opportunity than public sector and that too without clearing IBPS. It means with some basic knowledge you can get opportunity in banking sector , obviously in private sector.

Recently RBI has approved several types of banking license, hence opportunities increased many fold in recent times. Types of private sector commercial banks are as follows:

1. Full Fledged Commercial Bank: This type of commercial bank has right to accept deposits from public and allowed to lend money for earning profit. They can offer any kind of loan, cash credit, Demand loan, Short Type of loan,Discounting bill of exchanges, Trade Finance,Trade Finance,Overdraft Facility,

HDFC Bank
IDFC Bank
City Union Bank
DCB Bank
Dhanlaxmi Bank

Yes Bank  are some of few name in full fledged commercial Banks out of total 22 Full Fledged Commercial Private sector Bank.

2. Small Finance Bank : Small finance bank are a type of niche banks in India. The aim behind issuing this kind of licence is to provide financial inclusion to the sections of the economy not being served by other banks. Those companies were earlier in the business of Micro Finance are allowed Small Finance Bank licence.

3. Payment Bank : Payment Banks are those who operates in smaller scale without having credit risk. They can not offer loans or credit card. Current account and Savings account can be offered by them . They can also issue ATM cards and net banking facilities.

Graduate: What next !!

Have you completed graduation? Good ,you have achieved one of the required milestone to entered in the world of  job. Ok. Fine , Now the big question is "Whats next?"

Starting a great career is very important which will drive you to the great future. Most of all graduates are in dilemma which career should choose. Problem of Arts graduates are at compounded level. Choosing lucrative job offers career choices of Arts graduates are at disadvantageous stage.But nowadays options are coming day by day for Arts graduates also.

Everybody wants a stable secured job so that they can balance their personal and professional life as well. Govt sector job offers you stability and security simultaneously. Getting govt sector job needs dedication and continuous effort so that you can clear the selection examinations for various public sector jobs. As the selection exams are not held on daily of fortnightly so you have to wait after attempting one exam to other. Time to publish result takes longer than expected resultant to loss of precious time. Some time it takes more than one attempt to crack the selection process.

Only around 3 percent of total jobs are offered by the public sector which shows that tough competition are there and you have to prepare very well to be in that 3% of crowd else you will be left behind.


So what should I do ?

You should keep trying to crack govt sector job and simultaneously start your career in private sector as they are offering 97% of job opportunity. Which means the availability of opportunities are much higher for the eligible candidate. BFSI Segment offers you good career  with in private sectors if you are having adequate knowledge and required certifications.

Basically BFSI are service based industry where you can start your career with some basic knowledge about the same. The hierarchy of this industry are under:

Natural phenomena of human is that the thing we get to see for what we have the knowledge. For example if we see some yellow object lying in the field will be seen by some people who knows about the characteristics of gold rest of people will ignore the same.

Similarly people has little knowledge about banking as they use some of their basic products like bank account hence they have basic knowledge of banking system ,but in the same time they don't know what other products are offered by bank and other financial services companies. Banks also offered financial services and Insurance products too.

How to Start Career in BFSI: Some products of BFSI needs certification for the eligibility to start with. Like those services regulated by SEBI and IRDA needs some series of NISM cerifications.

How to Get NISM Certifications: Well, all NISM cerifications can be attempted by self study. You have to create profile with https://certifications.nism.ac.in/nismaol/ . To create profile you need copy of PAN, ADHAR and photograph in JPG format.

After validation of your documents NISM will activate your profile. Then find your desirable certification , pay exam fees online/offline mode and book seat for your desired exam center. You will get e-book as study material.
